DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY

The Department of Chemistry was Founded in the year 1958.When Undergraduate Classes started. It is The First Department of the College where the Postgraduate Classes started in 1964.We have got Specialization in Organic, Inorganic and Physical Chemistry. Dr. J.K Khanna was the founder head of the Department. His Dedication and hard work made a reputation of the college in general and Department of chemistry particular. Shri.Vishrut Chaudhary is Head of the Chemistry Department.The Faculty Members take their UG & PG Classes in E-Classroom by making a PowerPoint Presentation and by using a over hard LCD Projectors the Students of the Chemistry can make their Carrier in Teaching, Research and in various Industries such as Fertilizer, Paint, Paper, Agrochemical, Pharmaceutical, Cement, Iron, Glass, Petroleum and Battery etc. they can also join DRDO, ONGs, BARC, GAIL and BHEL as a Scientist. They can also appear for various Competitive Examination including Indian Civil Services and Indian Forest Services.The Department offers B.Sc, M.Sc.(org., Inorg. and physical Specialisation) and Ph.D. in Chemistry.The Result is 100%  With Unique Achivement of more than 95% First Division in Each Session. There is a Well Organised Library in the Department having 3568 Standard Books for Post-Graduate level Students. The Students are Encouraged to Consult these Books and they regularly take advantage to upgrade their Knowledge in the Library. This Library has become computerized Since 2019.The Department has well Equipped Research Laboratory. This Laboratory has Flame Photometer, Spectrophotometer, Distillation Assembly, Refractometer, Polarimeter, Digital Melting Point Apparatus, Electronic Balance, Redwood Viscometer and well connected to Central Researchers Lab Where is more Advance Researches Equipment Apparatus etc. Our M.Sc students have been getting Good Positions Regularly at University Level Since the Inception of the Department. Our 02 Student had Qualified JRF and 03 Students had Qualified UGC-CSIR NET Examination. Our 06 Students had Qualified GATE Examination in the Last Five Years. Our Student Miss. Anjali Sharma had gotten IInd and Jyoti Shukla IVth Position in the University Merit list 2015.Miss Prakshi Singhal also had gotten VIth Position in University Merit List 2016 and our M.sc Students Miss Priya Tomar got Ist Position in the University Merit list 2019.Department has collaborated in Research with Chemistry Department of Meerut College Meerut Our Department has a Food Testing Laboratory. This Laborartory is helpful to make the public aware via their Childrens/Students about Food Contamination through Food Testing Procedure.The CPE Grant allotted to the Department has been utilized to purchase Computers, LCD Projectors, Chemicals, Equipment, Glassware, and many useful Books for post Graduate Level in library. Dr. Yeshovardhana had become convener, board of studies and Research Degree committee in C.C.S University, Meerut. Since 2016.The Vice Chancellor of C.C.S University, Meerut has appointed Shri.Vishrut Chaudhary and Dr. Deepak Kumar as Assistant Controller of Evaluation and Moderation in University Examination. The Faculty Members of this Department had attended Approx 30 national/international Conferences and Seminars during the Last 5 Years. Mrs Sujata Malik got Best Teacher Award in Chemistry from Vedanta Academics Bangkok Award 2019. Dr.Naseem Zaidi 1971 batch, an IAS officer retired as chief election commissioner of India.

Shri.Ajay Mohan Sharma 1978 batch was selected in IPS.                                                                

The Ray Chemical society in the Department of Chemistry was started with a view of Diagnosing the Student innovative ideas and encouraging them to tune their idea via various Academic activities such as Quiz, Poster/Model Competition, Debate Educational Excursion and various visits along with social cum Academics activities like Welcome, Farewell and Get-Together Partie.The Following Facilities are available in the Department. Food Testing Laboratory.In our department, a Food Testing Laboratory was established on 22 October 2019.Such Testing Facilities are available in Laboratory for Milk and Milk Products, Spices, Oils and Ghee etc.
